Adempas is prescribed to treat high blood pressure in the lungs, known as pulmonary hypertension. It works to relax and widen the blood vessels in the lungs so that blood can flow more easily. It may also be prescribed to treat another type of high blood pressure in the lungs caused by blood clots, when surgery is not an option.
